Where my url has been shared: 4 ways to know

Once I finish writing a post on my blog, I sometimes want to know where and how my url has been shared. It’s good for the ego, it is also good for feedback, so you can evaluate what you readers are interested in. Be careful, this is some times very very disappointing! Let us take one of my last post on my French blog “Peindre en ligne des sites à ne pas manquer” which is a post about painting online. How many times this blog post has been shared, liked, googleplussed, twitted or linkdined? Well, here are 4 ways to know.

Sharedcount.com

This service just counts how many times this blog post  or url  has been  liked (29) Twitted (23) googleplussed (1 time) Linkedined (6 times).  No diggs in France!

Bit.ly (pas complet)

Another technic is to shorten you url with bit.ly. My test url  peindre-en-ligne…, is  http://bit.ly/OmENU. If I add “+” after sur url I can  see some interesting statistics    http://bit.ly/OmENU+  . Of course the statistics shown are the one from bit.ly. If you shorten your url with goo.gl it will not be shown here.

Webrankinfo.com (delicous inside)

Another online service that includes Delicious (this feature still works on the new delicious).  It is written in French but it is easy to guess how it works.

Analytics.postrank.com

If you are a stastitic  lover or a pro in SEO, this site if just for you. Postrank has been recently acquired by Google. This is a sign of seriousness.  Every morning I receive a summary mail that tells me how my blog has been performing  for the last 24 hours. I can see all the statictics of all the recently posted url.  It is very addictive! But it tells a lot!

Be aware that this data are highly valued by search engines. Each time a url is mentionned on a social network, a counter is incremented. The more data is shared on social networks, the more chance you have to rank high on search engine queries
